It can be a humbling experience to seek the guidance and support of a professional counselor. Choosing the right counselor can be challenging too. Psychotherapy, counseling or art therapy may be helpful if you're experiencing:
* feelings of sadness, anger or anxiety
* relationship conflict or loss of a loved one
* strained family relationships
* painful memories of childhood abuse or trauma
* challenges of parenting
* difficulty establishing and maintaining intimacy & trust
* feelings of low self-esteem, shame, guilt or isolation
* stress from dealing with racial or ethnic bias and institutionalized racism
* the stress of caring for an aging parent or ill loved one
* significant life transition
Who hasn't experienced one or more of these issues at one time or another? We can all benefit from having an opportunity to sort through our issues in a manner that is safe, non-judgmental, compassionate, insightful and empowering.
If you have questions and would like to discuss the possibility of therapy you are welcome to schedule a complimentary, 20 minute, consultation, by phone with Jenny (aka "Ms. Jenny").
Her approach to counseling is holistic, eclectic, intuitive and focuses on your strengths and goals. Depending on your needs and other factors, this approach may include cognitive-behavioral therapy/CBT (working on thoughts that create behavior) , psychodynamic therapy (exploring issues or trauma from your past and considering their impact upon your present life), art therapy (to encourage self-expression & insight), guided imagery, eft-tapping, breath-work and progressive relaxation among other techniques.
